American Waltham Watch Co.,Waltham, Mass., model 1888, "American Watch Co.", 21 jewels, stem wind and set, adjusted, damascened nickel plate movement with lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance, gold jewel settings, gold timing screws, gold wheel train and Fogg micrometric regulator in a 14 karat, yellow gold, hinged back and bezel, engine turned and engraved open face case, Roman numeral, single sunk white enamel dial, blued steel spade and whip hands, serial #6500016, 105.1g TW, c1895.
CONDITION:
CASE: Waves, cuvette; Cuvette with dent, made from inside; Fine scratches on outer surface of case; Engine turning and other detail worn smooth; Back cover hinge loose, hole in center section; Hinge plugs absent, back; Crown worn; Precious metal content marked. DIAL: Hairlines in enamel, very light; A few min or flakes; Scratches. HANDS: Minor bends; Minor oxide, minute. MOVEMENT PLATES: Minor scratches on plate; Scratches on balance cock; Winding wheels with minor oxide; Two plate screws abraded; Some screws with marred heads; Balance endstone setting marred.
